We ate this with homemade applesauce and broccoli. They turned out very flavorful and moist, as well as the rice was delicious with a similar quality to risotto. I covered the 9x13 with foil and baked for 1 hour (a little less time than the recipe said, just b/c the chops had already been browned). I stirred some of this mushroom/onion mix in with the rice, placed the pork chops on the rice, and then used the rest of the mushroom/onion mix to top the pork chops (except for the kids').

I then sauteed garlic, sliced onions, and sliced mushrooms in the same skillet. After removing them from the pan, I next deglazed the browned bits with a little white wine. I browned them in a non-stick skillet with a little butter and extra virgin olive oil. Next I seasoned the (bone-in center cut pork loin chop) with a little garlic powder, salt, and pepper. I did this step right in a 9x13" glass dish. I used 33% less sodium chicken broth instead of water. We thought the celery did add great flavor, so will definitely do that again. For the first step I used Campbell's Healthy Request cream of celery soup, just because my kids don't like mushrooms. I did do a combination of other reviewer's modifications. It will last anywhere from 4 – 6 months.Very good comfort meal, perfect for a Sunday home with the family. To extend the shelf life, I recommend freezing it! Wrap well or transfer to an airtight container and store in the freezer. Both the pork chops and mushrooms sauce will last in the fridge for 3 days! Freezing Wrap leftovers tightly or transfer to an airtight container. Serving this pork with a side of rice or any vegetable, with a nice piece of crusty bread is also an excellent idea. The list of of sides you can pair this dish with is endless! I personally love this dish with mashed potatoes. Mushrooms absorb water like sponges, therefore they won’t brown nicely when cooked.

Breadcrumbs – I use panko but use regular dried breadcrumbs or cracker crumbs if you prefer.Be aware that the bone-in will add more flavor.

Pork – Bone-in pork chops are preferred, but you could use boneless. If you love pork and absolutely can’t get enough of scrumptious mushroom flavors, look no further! This is the perfect comfort food. Not only is pork cost effective, but it is an excellent source of protein and provides several important vitamins and minerals. All the flavor of the pork and cremini mushrooms will only intensify, while letting the oven do all the work!Ĭooking these pork chops in one of the best mushroom sauces will be beyond delicious, and they will also be amazingly tender. I love anything with mushrooms, and these Mushroom Pork Chops won’t disappoint.
